What is GEO?
Your future customers now ask their questions to ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity. These tools do not rank links: they cite sources. GEO is about making you one of those sources when people ask about your business.
How is it different from traditional SEO?
SEO places you in a list of links the user compares on their own, while GEO aims at the single written answer an AI gives, with two or three sources cited. The criteria differ: clarity of answers, structured data, consistency of your information and presence on the sources the AI consults. The two reinforce each other, since AIs rely heavily on sites that are already well ranked.
What do you do in practice?
Four workstreams: citable content (clear answers structured as Q&As), structured data (Schema.org markup, well-defined entities), your presence on the sources AIs consult, and mention tracking. We regularly query AIs on your key business queries to see whether you are cited, how, and against which competitors.
How long before I see results?
The ground is still largely uncontested, so positions are won faster than in traditional SEO, but they are measured differently. Months 1 to 2 are a baseline assessment, the first citations appear between months 2 and 4, and a reference position builds from month 4 onwards.
