Build your own AI assistant on WhatsApp

Build your own WhatsApp assistant with Claude, modeled on Bruno, the one Skyward uses every day: it understands your voice notes, books your appointments, drafts your emails and reminds you of what matters.

What this skill does

It turns your AI assistant into an architect who builds, step by step and together with you, a personal assistant on WhatsApp. You send it a voice note: "Book me a meeting on Thursday with Paul and prepare his quote." It does it, then shows you the result.

It is the complete method behind Bruno, the assistant we use at Skyward: the server, the dedicated number, the QR code link, the context files, the tools, the safeguards and the supervisor that reviews its mistakes every night. With every pitfall we ran into, so that you don't have to.

The skill is interactive: it asks its questions one at a time, adapts its explanations to your level and checks each step with you before moving on to the next.

When to use it

  • You want to manage your calendar, emails and reminders from WhatsApp, by text or voice.
  • You waste time opening five tools for a single action.
  • You want your team to query your data without opening any software.
  • You want to understand how a real AI agent works, not just a simple chatbot.

You need an assistant able to run commands (Claude Code, or ChatGPT with Codex), a small VPS server, a phone and a dedicated WhatsApp number. Allow one day.

Example result

Fictional example. Manager of a real estate agency, three people on the team.

Scoping: the assistant is called Leon, uses a friendly tone, and knows the team's three numbers. Its first three missions: book viewings in Google Calendar, summarize the unread emails each morning, remind the team of purchase agreement follow-ups.

A day with Leon:

  1. 8:02 am, voice note from the manager: "Summarize my emails." Leon: "14 unread. 2 viewing requests, 1 offer on the Lattes house, the rest is not urgent."
  2. 8:05 am: "Book Ms. Durand's viewing on Thursday at 10, Lilac Street." The appointment shows up in the calendar, Leon confirms the time and the address.
  3. 8:07 am: "Draft a confirmation email for her." Leon shows the draft. "Yes." The email goes out.
  4. 2 am: the supervisor notices that a reminder request triggered no tool. It adds a rule to LESSONS.md, and Leon doesn't repeat the mistake.

Delivered: a VPS with two containers (gateway and brain), the four context files, five tested tools, a complete log, a night supervisor and a one-page how-to.

Going further

Once the base is in place, adding a tool takes an hour: connect your CRM, your quotes, your invoices or your stock. For an assistant connected to all your software, with each team member's permissions and PDF reports in your colors, Skyward can build it for you.
